Dear Dr. de Zayas,
Thank you for writing about the genocide of ethnic Germans following WWII. My father, now a Canadian citizen, was an ethnic German who, with his family, was able to make his way west. My father, now 70, has shared very little about his experiences (no doubt not wanting to re-live the trauma) and so your writing will be most beneficial for me to better understand him and what he experienced in his childhood. Thank you so much.

This guy is an excellent source for life, a source of experience, a source of wisdom.
When I met him, I knew he is hyper-intelligent ;-)
but despite this incredible knowlege he is so sensitive and is a person I would give the highest position in a state, because he would never abuse his power.

Dear Professor de Zayas,
I have read two of your earlier books with great interest, and browsing through your webpages, I see that there is much more to read and get engaged in. Your books are much needed source of facts about the 'other side'.You are a true champion of human rights and your books should be front and centre in every library in Canada.

Dear Professor,

I enjoyed your book "A Terrible Revenge." After looking around your web page a bit, I think I'll order some more of your books. Well done.

Dear Dr.deZayas:
Your thoughtful discourse and your never-ending search for the truth and for human dignity are one of the few islands of sanity and rational thinking in this world filled with lies and deceptions.
Thank you for your courage and dedication to this cause.

Der Professor Zayas,

I would like to ask you for assistance with the wikipedia article about the Expulsion. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_Germans_after_World_War_II). There is an ongoing debate on the talk page of the article about the numbers of expellees and victims, as well as about the events that were part of the expulsion itself (i.e. should the crimes commited by the Red Army included in Expulsions or just the crimes commited by inhabitants and re-constituted governments of the states of Eastern Europe?), and the responsibility for the expulsions (to what extent were the local inhabitants and governments responsible for the expulsion, and what part was played by the Soviets and other parties). There is no really unbiased source on the internet, and though the most of the editors are striving to present the facts, there are also both Eastern European and German nationalists trying to present their views in the article. Would you please be so kind, and point me to some reliable and verifiable source on the internet, or look at the table with numbers of expelees and victims contained in the article and comment it?

TIA

Sehr geehrter Herr Professor Zayas!

I received your publication "A Terrible Revenge" today from a friend. It brought tears to my eyes. I was born in Domnau, East Prussia, now Domnovo, near Koenigsberg (Kalinengrad). I have written a book about my experiences during and after WW II called "A Child of East Prussia - A German Girl Remembers WW II and the Post War Years." Should you be interested in reading it, please send me an e-mail and I would be happy to mail it to you.
Sincerely,
Hiltrud M. Webber

I'm a law student from Trinity College Dublin writing a paper on the Armenian genocide and possilbe routes of reparation in international law today. Your site was such a great help! I was wondering if you could tell me what the name of the publication was where the ictj looked at the genocide convention and concluded it could not be retroactively applied?
Thanks a million, Aoife

Dear Mr. De Zayas,
I am very impressed by your work which tackles one of world history's "black chapters". Not many reputed authors besides you dare to touch the topic of German expulsion in fear of being called a "revisionist". (If one speaks about true facts, he/she is immediately a "revisionist"? Strange logic.) Let me clarify that it is obvious that the Nazis inflicted incredible harm on many people. And fortunately, this has been widely exposed, many war criminals were trialed, and every child in this world learns at school how terrible the Nazi regime and "the" Germans were. Unfortunately, the schools don't seem to teach much more than simply that. Other questions, however, are not addressed. One such hidden subject is the expulsion and killings of millions of ethnic Germans. Many questions arise: Were Nazi crimes really a justification for the killing and expulsion of countless non-Nazi ethnic Germans from Eastern Europe, including the rape of children and other horrid events? What were the "real" choices of a German citizen and ethnic German living under Nazi propaganda and terror? Was the majority of 80 million Germans war criminals? And why is the media in many "democratic" countries so silent about these topics? Can't German refugees at least talk about "their" history? And where do our societies end if we cannot talk freely about what we truly experienced in our lives? After all, I think the expulsion of Germans would make a very important piece to educate people about the perils of indiscriminatory "revenge". A "revenge" aimed not only at war criminals, but a "revenge" aimed at everyone, including innocent victims. What we need in this world is one realization: We are all human and deserve dignity, no matter which ethnic background we have. Would people be more aware of this many human desasters could be prevented. But in a world full of countries only concerned with their own Nationalist egos it is a very hard thing to achieve. But we should never give up hope. And this is why I thank you, Mr. De Zayas, for being so brave and being a true philantroph.

Alfred - we meet yet again and good. I stand by my earlier praise of the work you did on 1945-46. However, I fear we might not be in agreement about the Armenian business and if you can get back to me I could say more. Please remember that the alleged proofs of genocide - the Talat telegrams included - are forgeries and quite crude ones at that. Guenther Lewy has written a book very recently (U of Utah Press) about the business. Also it just isn't right to say that the Armenians were persecuted from the year dot onwards - they were even in alliance with the Turks vs Byzantium. Their leader Boghos Nubar was offered a place in the Ottoman govt in 1914 and turned it down because his Turkish wasn't up to it. The diaspora Armenians Dadrian en tete hate me for writing viciously about their flagship book, tripe by a P.Balakian, but as I am sure I do not have to tell you I am pretty well neutral. There m a y have been some sort of genocidal order but lawyers British and German did not accept the supposed proofs. I could send you two quite important references but they can be got on google. One is a French ottomanist, Gilles Veinstein, in L'Histoire of 1993 or 1995 and the other was by Bronsart von Schellendorf in the Deutsche Allg.Ztng. in 1921. I absolutely do not wish to fall out with you over this and I keep an open mind, but Lewy is pretty good and see what you think. Best wishes Norman Stone

Dear Professor,
Today we had a TV program about the Armenian Genocide in 1915 and they organize tuesday in Amsterdam a public discussion.
I saw your name mentioned in many of the (over 200.000!) sites I got by Googling but within your site I could not find Dutch editions (translations) of one of your books.
I shall inform tomorrow at bookshops here, but if there is no book in Dutch: Maybe my niece, who translate books for editors, I can ask help ?

Wonderful site, being greeting in Dutch before leaving!

Yours Sincerely,

Henk Ruijsch,
Amsterdam

Dear prof. de Zayas, or
